How much of your home do you own?

Hi there. I wanted to share something about homeownership that often gets overlooked—the quiet power of building equity with every payment you make.

Equity Building

Every payment builds your wealth

One thing I love about homeownership is that your mortgage payment works for you. Unlike rent, which goes to a landlord, your payment builds equity—the portion of your home you actually own. As you pay down your loan over time, that equity grows. It's one of the most powerful wealth-building tools available to everyday people. If you've owned your home for a few years, you may have built up more equity than you realize. Some homeowners use that equity to fund renovations, consolidate debt, or cover major expenses. If you're curious about what you've accumulated so far, I'd love to take a look and walk you through your options.

Let's talk about your home's equity and what it could mean for your financial future.

Tip of the Week

Schedule a plumber to inspect older homes for slow leaks — water damage is expensive and often hidden until it's serious.

Tips for Homeowners

Jumbo Loans: What They Are and How They Work

1.

A jumbo loan exceeds the conforming loan limit set by the FHFA — $766,550 in most areas for 2024, higher in designated high-cost markets. These loans can't be sold to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.

2.

Jumbo loans typically require stronger credit (often 700+), larger down payments (10–20%), and more cash reserves. Underwriting is more thorough and can take longer.

3.

Rates on jumbo loans are sometimes comparable to or even lower than conforming rates, depending on market conditions. Don't assume a jumbo loan means a worse deal — shop lenders.
